It’s crazy to think that the 2024 Ultimate Callout Challenge has been over for six months already—but what’s even crazier is that it means the 2025 event is just six short months away. While most folks are winding down for the year with holidays coming up, the fiscal year ending, and the like, somewhere in a shop there’s a crew turning wrenches, prepping for next year’s big dance. We only thought it was fitting to recall the 2024 event and review the event in anticipation for next year.
The 2024 Ultimate Callout Challenge was a lot of things, but if we could sum it up in one word, it would be…wet. For the first time in a few years, the event battled the elements with rain impacting almost every facet of the weekend. From delays in the dyno competition to a full stacked Sunday, the weather put a lot of folks on their toes and made for an interesting weekend to say the least.
The show-and-shine portion of the event was in full force this year, with some of the most unique and incredible builds we’ve seen show up to date. From incredible vintage restomod builds to totally unique diesel swapped ’50s cars, we mean it when we say the show-and-shine area had something for everyone.
During the competitions, there were several wins and a couple of tough losses. For guys like Ken Brunner, the 2024 Ultimate Callout Challenge was an incredible event with Ken being crowned this year’s Ultimate Callout Challenge Champion. On the flip side, the event brought some heartbreak for guys like Morey Logue and Greg Alberalla, who both had catastrophic engine failures on the dyno on Saturday.
The fan attendance this year was incredible, with thousands of people flocking into small town Brownsburg, Indiana, for a weekend of racing, sled pulling, high-horsepower dyno runs, and of course, all the best vendors in the diesel industry.
Whether you attend for the racing, the competition, or just to see some awesome trucks, Ultimate Callout Challenge is the event for you. From the roar of a diesel engine down the strip to the incredible businesses in the diesel performance industry trade show, there is something for everyone at the event. We cannot wait to get back to Lucas Oil Raceway for another incredible year of UCC in 2025!
