The all-new RXX50 from Rincon Power is the world’s smallest and lightest high voltage contactor, boasting an interrupt rating of over 3MW (1000VDC/3kA). Explore the preliminary specifications in the datasheet here.

√ Fast-Break Actuation
The RXX50 features a patent-pending design that optimizes the actuating mass, enabling rapid release times for superior power interrupt and enhanced shock and vibration performance. In validation testing, the RXX50 exceeded 3MW. Additionally, it demonstrated exceptional durability in high-power endurance switching, indicating the potential for an increased maximum break rating once test capabilities are expanded. Modeling suggests that the RXX50 can surpass its preliminary 20G peak shock rating, with future qualification testing planned to exceed this rating.

√ Compact Layout
The RXX50’s lightweight and small form factor make it an ideal solution for high-performance, demanding applications in the EV and eVTOL sectors. It’s compact design enables direct mounting and allows seamless integration with cooling systems, which can enhance its current-carrying capacity beyond the datasheet rating.

√ Hermetic Ceramic Seal
The RXX50 incorporates a gas filled hermetic ceramic seal, delivering multiple benefits. These include high-temperature performance, ultra-low contact resistance in an oxygen-free environment, a compact form factor, and the ability to operate at altitude. It is rated for a maximum terminal temperature of 170°C.

√ Ultra-Low Contact Resistance
While other contactors use copper alloys or other materials that increase contact resistance, the RXX50 offers a no-compromise solution. Its Fast-Break actuation enables both ultra-low contact resistance and high-performance power switching without the typical trade-offs.

√ Efficient PWM Coil (External)
The RXX50’s reduced-mass coil operates on system-supplied PWM control power, with no internal electronics, making it a lightweight and efficient design.
