OE Radio

The latest from Custom Autosound, these are original looking, direct OE fitment radios that provide a classic look with modern convenience. Torque Boost

Dynatech Headers’ new Torque Boosters are a great solution when you need added torque on restarts. The Boosters work especially well between 2,500-4,200 rpm. Usually when you pick up low end torque, it’s at the expense of high-end horsepower. According to the manufacturer, the Torque Booster defies this rule and provides substantial increases in low- to mid-range torque with no affect on high-end horsepower numbers. Although beneficial on almost any engine, they work exceptionally well on 604 crate engine applications where added low- and mid-range torque gains are needed.

Forged Piston & Ring Set

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering’s forged 4.070-inch LSA piston and ring set for GM LSA, LS3 and LS9 engine blocks is designed to work in combination with the wide variety of supercharger pulleys and supercharger upgrades available from Lingenfelter for the LSA engine. The forged LSA piston and ring set (P/N L290016509) is designed for the 2009-14 CTS-V, the 2012-14 Camaro ZL1 and Chevrolet Performance Parts/GMPP LSA crate engine. Engineered using the OEM CAD models to clear the OEM piston cooling oil jets and crankshaft reluctor wheel of the LSA engine, Lingenfelter sets’ forged piston construction delivers greater strength than cast OEM LSA pistons. The pistons feature Total Seal rings with a stainless CrN face top ring, ductile iron Napier second ring and three-piece, stainless steel, flex-bent design oil ring. The piston and ring set is designed for use with most 6.125-inch aftermarket connecting rods.

One-Piece Wheels

This GT Pro-Touring Sport steering wheel (Model 52-5375) is inspired by GM’s iconic oval four-spoke sport wheel used on the Camaro, Corvette, Chevelle and Nova/Chevy II during the ’70s, but it’s now available with a thoroughly modern flair. The engineered construction features 5086 black anodized aluminum spokes riveted to an inner steel channel with molded polyurethane grip. Perforated, ergonomically shaped handgrips help reduce driver fatigue, while the deep-dished spoke design increases strength and rigidity. The handgrip is finished with the finest, most supple Italian  leather available, which is then baseball stitched by artisans. The horn buttons are sold separately and feature GT Performance Products Sure Lock O-ring design that ensures they won’t pop-off.

Spring Tester

Goodson Tools & Supplies for Engine Builders has introduced new features for its analog valve spring tester. According to Erik Shepard, Goodson’s tech service manager, “In response to our customers’ requests for metric options, we’ve modified our analog spring tester to include metric options on both the dial and height scales.” The analog valve spring tester also features 600-pound capacity in 10-pound increments (272kG capacity in 4.54kG increments) and 5-inch diameter Ashcroft analog pressure gauge with both metric and SAE scales. The spring platform handles springs up to 2 inches diameter x 4.5 inches overall height.

Flex Plates

QuickTime has launched its all-new modular flex plate (patent pending) for a wide variety of engines, including small- and big-block Chevrolet and Ford. Each application is designed to handle the stresses of high-horsepower, high- rpm engines. Engineered for unsurpassed strength, accuracy and performance, the modular flex plate brings an age-old product into the 21st century. QuickTime takes a whole new approach to flex plates by using a laser-cut 4130 chrome-moly steel center section that is joined to 4130 chrome-moly steel ring gear segments using (18) separate 4130 pins, which are pressed as well as laser welded. The result is lighter than and twice as strong as OE-style flex plates.
