ACCEL Performance Group recently launched a new web-based automotive video series called ACCEL IT.
The first 10-minute episode features ACCEL’s host, Jenny Long, offering a free mod on a red 1968 Chevy Corvette from the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions and Hot August Nights cruise in Reno, Nevada. With the help of the vehicle’s caretaker, Steve Tanzi, and mechanic Timmy Hinkle of Little Green Customs, the three give the Vette some much needed TLC and install one of ACCEL’s performance combinations—a Mallory Performance Distributor, ACCEL High Performance Header Plugs spark plug set, ACCEL SuperStock spark plug wires, and an ACCEL SuperStock ignition coil. At the end of the episode, Jenny asks viewers to submit their ride through social media and tell her why they should be chosen next. Maybe you need to think of what you need and get some freebies!
Check for episodes of ACCEL IT on their Facebook page (ACCEL Performance Group), or by logging onto the ACCEL YouTube page, or by visiting ACCEL’s website, ACCELNation.com. Future episodes of the series should include trips to Austin, San Antonio and of course right in Cleveland, Ohio. The company says this video series will not only showcase the performance upgrades on the featured vehicles, but will also be accompanied by complete installation and product feature videos.
Ford engineers responsible for the all-new F-150 were tasked with taking weight out of the truck while improving its capability to accomplish all of the work owners expect of the toughest, smartest, most capable and efficient F-150 ever.
While many already know that the increased use of high-strength steel throughout the frame and the first-in-class military-grade, aluminum-alloy body led to approximately 450 pounds of weight savings, there’s more to the story, as engineers took approximately 250 pounds of additional weight from seats, bumpers and lots of other places. Every pound shaved from a variety of components returns capability back to the customer, so that the all-new F-150 can achieve its best-in-class payload of 3,300 pounds* and best-in-class towing of 12,200 pounds**.
*When properly equipped with 5.0-liter V8, 4×2.
**When properly equipped with 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6, 4×2.
Note: Class is full-size pickups under 8,500 pounds GVWR.
