25TH ANNUAL FALL COLORS CAR SHOW

This event is like a mini vacation for classic car owners; with awesome scenery, friendly locals, and great food!

The 25th Annual Fall Colors Car Show started on Friday afternoon, Oct 5th, at 4pm with participants hanging-out at the Kmart parking lot after arriving and registering. The show was run by the Owens Valley Cruisers Car Club and the club members made registration effortless. The weather was cool and cloudy with 73° daytime temps and much cooler temps in the mornings and evenings.

Ron and Lucy Moyer brought their gasser from Yorba Linda, Ca. A 8-71 Littlefield blower with dual 950cfm carbs sits on a 540ci Dart big block. The combination sends 843hp to the 6-speed Tremec trans. Owner Lucy Moyer loves to drive her ’55 Chevy Gasser.

At 7:00am, Saturday morning the 300+ show cars entered the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Bishop, Ca. All the cars were parked on grass, many under trees. All participants enjoyed a delicious Lions Club pancake breakfast. After a stirring presentation of our fl ag, Jim Lambert entertained the crowd all day. The Car Show ended at 3:00pm with the unique Cruisin’ Parade on Main Street (Hwy 395). Spectators lined the street to wave at their favorites. On Sunday morning the Fall Colors Poker Run began at the Fairgrounds and went into Round Valley where the fall colors were on display. The contestants each picked up fi ve cards along the route. Then back to the Fairgrounds where the awards ceremony presented 76 car owners with their awards. This event is like a mini vacation for classic car owners; with awesome scenery, friendly locals, and great food!
