Bring Out the Sun AND the C10 Trucks!

Having a full-blown custom truck show held in February is a gamble, no matter the location, to say the least. But that has never stopped the dedicated crew that puts on one of the largest custom truck events of the year! Lone Star Throwdown is held annually in Conroe, Texas, the end of February and is one of the first events on our schedule to kickstart the year.

Even in Texas, the weather is hit and miss, but this year we were due for some sunshine, and the sun sure did shine! Over the years with the massive growth LST has seen, truck owners invaded in droves from coast-to-coast, so the last few years the LST crew has had to put a pre-reg cap at 2,000 registered vehicles (plus the vendors and booth vehicles, etc.). Usually this means a fast sellout and this year was no different.

Packed all weekend long with some of the very best custom rides on the scene and with the gorgeous weather, both locals and those who traveled near and far were on hand to take it all in. Also in recent years, there is an area now known as the C10 corral where specific Chevy trucks all park together to show off the best of the best. This year also had another special moment for the C10 crowd—the Alamo Customs squarebody K5 from Ricky Holly took home the Best of Show choice, which is quite a big deal at LST seeing how many cover-quality builds come out year after year to compete for the highest honor and a special shot at Bae (Philbuilt Custom billet trophies all the way from Canada are definitely another special highlight that sets LST apart from the rest).

Definitely one for the books with some of the most amazing builders, builds, parts, vendors, and people. And, of course, we’ll see you there next year!
