Oil systems pioneer Aviaid, the company credited with introducing dry sump technology to motorsports, has long thrived on providing innovative lubrication solutions for a wide range of applications. The Chatsworth, California firm’s most recent endeavor was creating a compact dry sump system for the latest generations (3-4-5) of the Viper V-10 engine.

The new Viper package is centered on a 7-stage Series 1 pump that features five oil pan scavenging sections, one pressure section, and one section for scavenging a turbocharger. It is driven by an HTD belt and can be configured with as many or few sections as desired —while a fuel pump can be driven off the back of the pump. A specially engineered pan is fabricated from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and features a .250” thick rail, .125” body and a .500” plate to mount the pump.

The sump features five pickup compartments with screened AN-12 fittings. The pan is also available without the pump mount. Aviaid manufactures complete oil systems that include the pump, pan, sump tank, drives and adapters. They have dozens of mounts and can adapt to most any 4-6-8-10 or 12-cylinder engine (including early Vipers).
