The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club presented its 50th annual Vintage Car Show on the grass at beautiful Pala Mesa Resort. Fallbrook is a comfortable rural town of 30,000 population, just north of San Diego, CA. It once had a stagecoach stop for the stage that ran from Temecula to San Diego. Incidentally, it claims the title “Avocado Capital of the World.” But it’s safe to say that we like it more for the fact that it hosts this event.

You can usually count on almost ideal weather in southern California, but a light rain lingered in the morning till around 10 am. Nonetheless, the show still had about 400 vehicles in attendance. The variety, as always, was amazing, with everything from 100 year old “Brass” cars to domestic & foreign models, and stock or modified rides.

The Fallbrook Firefighters’ Assoc. breakfast was available for early arrivers and many food vendors were also on-hand for the event. The beer & wine garden was understandably popular. Also there were a lot of interesting vendors showing their wares as part of the swap meet. Through the day thousands of admiring spectators enjoyed looking over all the cars. Attendees could enjoy a live concert featuring the Fallbrook High School rock band followed by the Sgt. Peppers Beatles Tribute Band for some extra entertainment. Great music was also provided by DJ Brett Harrell and his High Energy sound machine.

At 2:00 pm 30+ class and special awards were presented.  Last year this show allowed the Car Club to make donations to non-profit youth and local Fallbrook organizations. This was a terrific show that additionally benefited the community.
