Harley Blake’s 2017 F-350 Dually

Achieving a goal that makes your younger self proud is a rewarding feeling. Whether it’s getting that job you’ve always dreamed of or finally purchasing the thing you never thought you’d own, the satisfaction of crossing off a major bucket-list item is immense. That brief moment of self-awareness when you first realize you’ve done it is something I hope we all get to experience at least once in life.

And that brings us to Harley Blake, from Tipton, Indiana. She told us that seeing her 2017 F-350 become what it is today has brought about a full-circle moment—it made her younger self very proud of everything she has done.

To start, Harley swapped on some 20×12 Weld Scorch wheels wrapped in a 33-inch Toyo Open Country M/T tires. Fox 2.0 Adventure Series shocks replace OEM shocks, and 10 No Limit LED rock lights rock the fender wells. For unsurpassed performance, Harley put a 5-inch exhaust with a 6-inch Jamo tip, a Maryland Performance Parts High Flow Piping Kit, an SPE Coolant Line Reroute Kit, and an EZ Lynk for holding the tunes.

The piping kit, which you can clearly see, is a fantastic green that’s guaranteed to catch anyone’s eye. Even in the cloudy weather, it was super vivid and popped with ease! Interior-wise, she has diamond-stitched floor mats that are black with green stitching and billet-machined jam handles. Keen eyes may have spotted the hand-painted front license plate, which Harley painted herself. The exterior has also been fully paint-corrected and ceramic-coated.

The only real issues she ran into with this build was not realizing the piping kit didn’t include the coolant pipe and required coolant lines to be rerouted. While the SPE Coolant Line Kit sufficed for the time being, she also intends on making a custom pipe during the winter!

Harley told us that this truck has been a longtime goal for her. Her love for trucks began with big rigs as a kid (One of us! One of us!), and that eventually led her to loving all things truck. Now, this isn’t the end of the line for this truck either, as she has plenty more mods coming that she intends on installing over the winter, such as a new hood, new emblems, a new upper coolant pipe, a DCR pump, and some more updates to the interior. We can’t wait to see what’s next!

Ask Harley

Harley’s advice on building a truck yourself: “Only build as fast as you can pay in cash without it affecting your daily life.”

At Diesel World, we often see and hear of people racking up crazy amounts of debt just to say they have something cool. We echo Harley’s words: Don’t let it affect your daily life.

“Patience is key,” Harley adds. “And it’s OK if your build takes longer than the next guy.”
