Behind the barricades

As the sun sets on Las Vegas and the SEMA Show comes to a close with a PA announcement, a raucous cheer from the show exhibitors is followed by the thunderous roar as the more than 1,500 SEMA Show vehicles start-up and begin the rollout to SEMA Ignited. The rollout is now known as the SEMA Cruise.

Each year, SEMA descends like chrome locusts on Sin City to showcase the latest in automotive aftermarket products, offer networking and education opportunities to attendees, awards for  outstanding new products, and much, much more. But frankly, the stars of SEMA each year are the exceptional vehicles on display in exhibitor’s booths and throughout the event, both inside and outside.

The thing is, until recently, you couldn’t get in to see these perfect examples of rolling art. You still can’t get in to SEMA unless you are industry, but some smart SEMA cookie realized that all those car people that were lining up to watch the rollout along Las Vegas Boulevard every year after the show ended, might like an opportunity to get up close to take in this part of the exclusive, industry-only event. And just like that, SEMA Ignited was born.

Now when the SEMA Show ends, the cars parade past all those who wait along the route and inside the specially designated area – and YOU ARE invited to attend! Tickets are available online and at the venue. Get there early so you can get through security and stake out your spot. The vehicles cruise past the emcees who briefly interview the drivers as they make their way to a designated parking area so you can get up close to each of these unique vehicles. Whether you line the route, grab a seat on the many bleachers or head straight to the designated lot, you’re sure to see cars, trucks, rat rods, customs, vintage and concepts that will blow your mind.

The SEMA Ignited coordinators have also thought of facilities, food trucks, live entertainment, music, and even the Nitro Circus! So much to see and experience. It’s the place to be.
