Southern Tradition Car and Truck Show 2024

Southern Tradition Car and Truck Show 2024 was a massive hit, and we were there to witness it all! Founded by Waka and Heather in 2018, this show was born out of their shared love for the hobby and a desire to keep the spirit of Georgia’s biggest car show alive. When the state’s premier event retired, they decided to keep the Southern Tradition going—quite literally!

Held at the scenic Etowah River Park, the show provided a fun, family friendly atmosphere. With the Etowah River as a backdrop and expansive grassy fields, the location is perfect for an event of this magnitude, allowing it to grow year after year.

The variety of vehicles was one of the highlights of the show. From mini-trucks to lifted trucks, classics to hot rods, Southern Tradition had it all. This inclusive event welcomes all types of vehicles, making it a must-attend for any automotive enthusiast.

Last year’s event was a blast, and this year was no different. We saw everything from high-riding trucks to low-slung customs, mild restorations to radical modifications. The show field was a sea of impressive rides and enthusiastic conversations. HammerD Weekend Wear held the VIP spot, offering cool merchandise, while DJ Maze kept the energy high with great music all weekend.

The food scene was just as enticing, as the smell of BBQ and snacks from various vendors made it hard to leave the showgrounds. The wide-open field allowed plenty of room for activities, adding to the laid-back yet exciting atmosphere.

One of the unique traditions of Southern Tradition is the annual photo shoots. This year, they introduced a female-rides-only shoot, which added a new twist to the event. It was great to see so many returning attendees help create a sense of community and continuity.

Southern Tradition truly nails the combination of great people, camaraderie, and lasting memories. The show delivers a small car show feel with a big show punch. If you’re flipping through your 2025 calendar, be sure to mark July for the Southern Tradition Car and Truck Show. We can’t wait to see you there!
