The man behind The Wheelsmith is Bob Sage; he’s been building wheels since 1971. Collectively the entire team at the company, including Sage’s son, Chris, has more than 130 years of wheel-building experience.

Bob started The Wheelsmith to meet the need for specialty fit wheels among true car enthusiasts. As a hot rod builder himself, he was particularly in tune with that segment of the automotive aftermarket and he wanted to cater to that crowd. Today he endeavors to build wheels for practically any individual car spec.

Throughout the years, The Wheelsmith has provided its services to a wide range of clients, from top car builders, salt flat racers and automotive restorers, as well as DIYers. They help fulfill the car guy’s dream for finding the exact wheels for even the most unique projects. That’s what has allowed the company to expand in terms of its business and its product lines.
