Sometimes we scan the mass amounts of automotive Instagram pics, every once in a while we’ll see a post from someone who has incredible talent. You just stare at the detail of their artwork and you feel the passion the artist felt when they were creating it.

That happened to us a few weeks ago and we reached out to a talented artist named Jessie Madera. Her Instagram name is thepaintingbuzz.

We had a chance to catch up with this busy artist. Her artwork is in high demand and the detail of each piece is time-consuming which leaves her little time to just hang out and shoot the breeze. But we were excited when she said yes.

Jessie was very gracious and fun to talk to. Even though we asked all of our questions Jessie’s artwork does most of the talking. She does have a natural talent but she has also honed her skills as you see here tells you almost everything you need to know. She is one talented individual.

Jessie told us that her passion for art was always there but it wasn’t until her late teens and early twenties that she got serious about her art and started to become involved with art commissions from clients

After a period of time, she gravitated toward a more realistic style of painting with high contrast, dark shadows, and lots of color. This led to Jessie working on large projects like street art murals and collaborations with other artists.

Her passion for these colors and styles led to images that portrayed a macabre style with a touch of evil. We totally understand that attraction. Have you ever looked at an IRON MAIDEN album cover or poster? Yes sir, that’s what we’re talking about.!!

In order to create those intense images, hand painting turned to airbrushing. This new medium opened the pandora’s box of creativity for Jessie and it was full steam ahead.

EDITOR NOTE: (For some of our younger readers who may not be familiar with that phrase. “Full Steam Ahead”; About 150 years ago locomotives and boats ran on steam engines and in order to go faster they put the steam boiler to maximum pressure to go faster.) Hence the phrase full steam ahead. It’s more commonly known now as “Full Speed Ahead” because there aren’t too many steam engines around anymore. Except the ones Jay Leno owns and restores.

Back to Jessie’s story. In her own words let’s follow the incredible story of her inspiration and how she perfected her art.

Jessie Madera is a visual artist who has been paving her own lane in the art scene and more recently the automotive and motorcycle world. For more than a decade, she has been using her blend of horror motifs and realistic styles to bring her pieces to life. Mastering her craft with acrylic on canvas quickly evolved to a mature style, fusing dark romantic, supernatural imagery combined with a highly realistic bodily expression.

Like many artists, Jessie draws inspiration from life and the human figure. Madera credits the hours spent looking through portrait photography as the source of creating a strong foundation for the subjects she portrays. The pieces have such shocking realism that they appear as if they are alive and breathing, on canvas or otherwise. The horror of her images leaps vividly and instantly from the medium of her choice to the imagination of the viewer.

In 2016 she began learning how to airbrush, which she understood would broaden the depth and quality of her clientele. Over the past few years, her art has evolved alongside her medium. This transition introduced her to the motorcycle and automotive scene and the many artists who do crossover work there.

She demonstrates both versatility and prolificity across her various projects and pieces. Her style fits perfectly within the motorcycle realm, heralding a combination of fine art and gritty biker gravitas resulting in something unusual and badass.

Jessie Madera has more than established herself as a tour de force of the custom art world across many facets. She has worked with many notable clientele that includes Olympic Athletes, Orange County Choppers, Thorogood Boots, Titmouse, and more. She has been featured in various publications and podcasts such as Inked Magazine, Airbrush Step by Step, No Braking, and Hussy (just to name a few) and continues to excite the scene with her wonderful output.

With a high demand for her artwork, Jessie told us that she consults with clients about what their vision for an art piece would look like, and with digital art she can create the exact piece for approval before she even fires up her air compressor and paints the real thing.

Watching her take a blank canvas in the form of a gas tank, helmet, or whatever it might be and see the incredible finished piece is just, Incredible. We love her artwork so much we’re thinking about buying a motorcycle helmet so she can paint cool stuff on it. We don’t have a motorcycle but who cares, we got a bitchin’ artwork from Jessie Madera!

Thanks, Jessie for taking the time to talk with us and we look forward to seeing more of your amazing art.
