36th Annual Car Show

Each year at the end of October, historic Main Street in downtown Moorpark, CA is packed with several hundred very cool rides.

There is something for everyone at this show, as enthusiasts come from all over the Los Angeles and Ventura areas to participate. Main Street features buildings from the early part of the last century, and several great restaurants and shops. It has become a “must attend” event for many LA and Ventura county car clubs. Plus they play the best “oldies” I’ve ever heard at a car event. Unfortunately there were no owner information cards on the entrys, so the drivers will go un-named. Show information can be found for the 2016 event later next year at www.roamnrelics.com. Here are some of the outstanding pre-‘79 vehicles on display at the 2015 event. Try and make the ’16 event, you’ll be glad you did!

A beautiful black and chrome ’32 Ford roadster with the completely chromed factory fuel-injected small-block. The injection is originally from a ’63 Corvette.
Completely restored Shelby GT 350.
A 1936 four-door Buick sedan that still sports the original “Valve In Head” straight eight engine.
A 30-ish rat rod powered by a cool flat head sporting tri-power!
A traditional T-bucket, motor-vated by a cool blown dual-quad small-block.
An unusual Model A coupe street rod.
VW surf wagon? Nice restoration with a comfortable interior.’
Sixties Plymouth Max Wedge coupe, sporting early style mag wheels and stock exterior. The restored 426-cid, dual-quad Wedge engine is free of power steering and brakes.

Antique Ford Super Duty.
Early Ford pickup with a tilt frontend and almost every inch of the body, bed and interior like glass. A small-block Ford provided the power.
Gorgeous early ‘50s Chevrolet “woodie” wagon. With the shaved door handles, it can pass for a 2-door at first glance.
The wagon is powered by a Chevy RAM JET small-block. Flawless engine compartment work.’’’
A C-600 built by Backalley Restorations in Moorpark.
A ’70 Ram Air III, four-speed Pontiac GTO Judge, superbly restored right down to the original alternator and starter.
A Pontiac RA III, factory rated 366-horsepower 400-cid. The engine compartment includes all the factory parts identification stickers.
Rusty ‘30s Ford pickup is actually in good condition for its age.
One of the nicest ’57 hardtops we’ve ever seen with the perfect color and stance. The engine compartment is elegant with the ZZ430 crate engine fed by a polished fuel-injection system and all the convenience options.

This incredible early Chevy truck was representing Mr. T’s polishing and detail shop.
A totally custom ’67 Camaro is not usually unique, but this one certainly is. Called the OUTLIER, it appears that not one panel on the car, interior or exterior hasn’t been modified. The color scheme is striking! Next to it you see its Hawaii Racing totally chromed and polished big-block. Check out the craftsmanship exhibited in the entire engine compartment. A real beauty.

This school bus had Power Tour 2015 stickers and long distance award banners. Built by Bones Fabrication.
Now this is wild! A ’59 or ’60 Impala done to the max inside and out. Sitting on the ground, wearing an unusual paint scheme, it’s a beautiful, meticulous build. The supercharged Corvette engine powers it with a custom color-matched engine cover.
