Installing TMI Products Cruiser Series Interior in Project Rocky

In the pursuit of blending modern comfort with timeless style, Project Rocky reaches an important stage as we install our new Cruiser Series interior kit from TMI Products. This latest addition redefines the driving experience, combining functionality with a clean, basic aesthetic.

The Cruiser Collection, freshly introduced by TMI Automotive Products, is designed specifically for those seeking simplicity without compromise. Crafted with attention to detail, these seats offer a budget friendly option without skimping on quality or comfort. Available in two bucket seat styles and two bench seat widths, the Cruiser Collection caters to diverse preferences while maintaining a cohesive, OE-inspired design.

The allure of the Cruiser Collection lies not only in its functionality but also in its ease of installation. Fully assembled and ready to bolt into place, these seats eliminate the hassle of sewing or stretching, allowing enthusiasts to focus on the thrill of the ride ahead. With options for contrast stitching and a classic upholstery pattern, customization knows no bounds, ensuring that every interior reflects the owner’s unique taste and style.

Collaborating with Shawn Brandow from Twisted Artisan Interiors, a seasoned expert in custom interior installations, ensures that every detail is executed with precision and finesse. As Project Rocky prepares to undergo its final phase at the wiring shop, anticipation mounts for its grand debut at SEMA 2024, where it will take center stage in our booth at Hot Rod Alley.

In the ever-evolving world of automotive restoration and customization, Project Rocky stands as a testament to innovation and dedication. With the TMI Products Cruiser Series Interior, comfort, style, and performance converge, setting a new standard for excellence on the open road.

01. This time we left Project Rocky, our 1979 2WD Chevy squarebody, we completed the installation of the frontend components as well as the inner fenders. Now it’s time to get the interior completed and get this truck over to the wiring shop.
02. All-new sound deadening and heat-resistant padding was added to the floor in a previous issue thanks to our friends at LMC Truck. This kit is already cut to fit our truck and numbered for an easy installation.
03. Shawn covers up the heat-resistant material, he sets our new LMC truck carpet outdoors so it can heat up which will make it easier to stretch and install.
04. Shawn Brandow and Twisted Artisan is our go-to interior installer and we highly recommend contacting him if you have a major interior need. He travels anywhere around the country and has meticulous attention to detail.
05. To get the carpet to mold around the contours of the floor, Sean uses a steamer to loosen up the material and get it to stay where he wants.

06. One of the reasons you want to hire a professional, especially a type of floor shifter like we do, is to ensure a perfect fit and a hole in your carpet exactly where you need to be.
07. With the carpet completely contoured and trimmed to the perfect size, Sean uses a little bit of spray adhesive to make sure it won’t move around in the future.

08. Now it’s time to install the interior panels. We purchased all of these plastic black panels from LMC truck to replace the original parts.
09. Shawn installed our Steele rubber products door gaskets first before moving onto the plastic interior panels.
10. The kick panels were put into place, although once we install our Vintage Air system, this one will be swapped out for a new one that comes with that kit.
11. New door sill plates from LMC truck fit exactly as intended and look amazing installed.

12. Before he puts the pillar plastic panels on, it’s time to get this LMC truck headliner mounted to the roof.
13. Shawn has done this a million times so he knows the exact order of operations to get our headliner installed perfectly.

14. With the headliner mounted, he can now install the A and B pillar plastic panels that will keep the headliner in place.

15. These coat hooks also came from LMC truck and keep the pillar plastic mounted where it should be.
16. Now I have to focus on these new TMI Products door panels. They are wrapped in black vinyl and stitched with red thread for an incredible look.
17. The mounting bracket for the door panels came from LMC Truck, where you can get basically everything you need for this truck brand new.
18. Putting the interior door panels on is a simple process for a professional or a first timer thanks to TMI Products.

19. These door panels look amazing and come with all the hardware in fasteners you need for installation.
20. Next is installing the TMI Products dash overlay. The stitching on this overlay is impeccable and vents for the A/C are already cut out.

21. Before he installed the new dash overlay, Shawn asked me to give him a hand getting this TMI bench seat into the cab of our ’79 Chevy truck.
22. Thanks to the amazing engineering of TMI Products, after mounting the bracket to the seat, it simply bolts to the factory location and looks absolutely amazing.
23. The seats have the ability to recline and fold forward with the built-in hinge.
24. Now it’s time to install the dash cap from TMI Products over our factory metal dash.
25. With all the new mounting hardware from LMC Truck, Shawn just need to slide the dash into place and use the factory holes to bolt it in.
26. The transformation we had in just a short amount of time of installing the dash makes us feel like we’ve got a brand new truck. Combined with our Dakota Digital gauges, we can’t wait to get in the driver’s seat and take off.

27. Our all-new interior from TMI Products and LMC Truck turned this ’79 Chevy into a true work of art: comfort and style with a classic feel.
