If there’s one event that brings the custom truck scene together before the year closes out, it’s Turkey Drag. Held every December at Wind Point Park in Lone Oak, Texas, this three-day show is about showing off builds, cruising, camping, and kicking back with fellow enthusiasts. This year, Street Trucks sent me to capture the action, and it’s safe to say, the turnout was nothing short of epic.
For a show that started on just 12 acres in Tyler, Texas, back in 2005, Turkey Drag has come a long way. Now spread across a massive 180-acre park, the event welcomes all makes and models, with lifted, lowered, classic, and custom rides filling the grounds. What makes Turkey Drag different? It’s not just a show—it’s an experience. With on-site camping, food vendors, and a constant flow of trucks rolling through the showgrounds, the vibe is all about show, cruise, and relaxation.
The 2024 event didn’t disappoint, with some of the cleanest builds in the country making the trek. From slammed mini-trucks and body-dropped full-sizes to towering lifted rigs with custom wheels, there was something for every kind of truck enthusiast. Vendors packed the park, offering everything from custom parts and apparel to one-of-a-kind artwork and accessories. JTX Forged Wheels had a killer display of lifted rigs, while KIK Clothing set up shop with their custom merch hauler parked right in the action.
One of the best things about Turkey Drag is the non-stop rolling action. Unlike most static car shows, trucks are constantly cruising the grounds, making it easy to grab killer rolling shots and see these builds in motion. With lakefront views, shady trees, and perfect weather, it’s easy to forget you’re at a show—it feels more like a weekend retreat for truck lovers.
If you haven’t hit up Turkey Drag yet, mark your calendars for next year. With its laid-back atmosphere, killer rides, and prime location, it’s one of the best ways to close out the show season. Flip through these pages to see some of the wildest builds from Turkey Drag 2024, and start making plans to join the action next December!
